The funeral we attended was for my great aunt/step-grandmother. She was one of the people I'd been praying for and thinking about a couple of weeks ago. Her death was very unexpected and it's still hard to believe that she's gone. At 78 she had so much energy and took such joy in life and caring for others. I think she must have crocheted non-stop throughout the years, because every Christmas she gave away countless gifts that she'd crocheted. I'll miss Aunt Mart a lot, but I'm so thankful for the knowledge that she's in God's care.
We had a good Easter, even if it was too cold for my liking. The kids got to hunt for Easter eggs at my Grandma's house on the farm, the same way that I did every year when I was a kid. We didn't get any pictures of us dressed up, which was okay since we weren't really all that dressy this year. But we did manage to grab Millie in the middle of a game of tag to snap this picture of our family. It's the only one we've taken of all of us since Isaac was just a few days old.
Speaking of our baby Isaac, he's getting to be less my itty baby. At 7 months old, he's weighing in at 21 pounds now, and is officially crawling. Everywhere. I am on full-time choking hazard patrol now as this boy can go wherever he sets his mind to go, and usually manages to find something little to put in his mouth. But it's lots of fun to have a sturdier baby now, and Millie and Silas are having more and more fun being able to play with him and help take care of him.
So that's where we've been. It will probably still be a while before I'm back here regularly. But I am enjoying some of the extra time to focus on some other creative pursuits. I finally got around to sewing another nightgown for Millie (will post pictures soon!). And I think my seedlings have officially graduated up to the status of plants! They are doing so great despite our extended absence last week, so I'll plan to post some pictures of them as well.
In the meantime, hopefully there are signs of spring and abundant sunshine where you are!
